A Holistic Natural Skin Care Guide: Products

Skin health begins with understanding the connection between the products you put on your skin and the impact your nutrition and lifestyle have on your overall well-being. When you’re thinking about skin care, a holistic approach that emphasizes the interconnectedness of what you apply to your skin, how you feed your body, and how you live your life will prove to be the healthiest and most sustainable way to achieve true beauty wellness both inside and outside.

This first part of a three-part holistic natural skin care guide emphasizes the importance of nontoxic, natural ingredients.


Choose Nontoxic Products

Skin is the human body’s biggest organ. Sixty percent of the products we apply topically have the potential to be absorbed in the bloodstream and circulate to our cells. By opting for organic natural skin care, you are choosing to nourish your skin with ingredients free from insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, and fertilizers.

Cleanse Carefully

Instead of a quick rub and rinse, invest the time in a proper cleanse to glean the benefits of a truly pure complexion.

Cleanse: Wash once with a lightweight makeup remover to sweep makeup, dirt, and environmental debris from your skin, then wash again with a gentle cleanser that will purify and deeply clean beneath the surface.

Exfoliate: This process removes dead, dulling surface skin cells and clears your pores of dirt and oil. It leaves skin primed and ready for hydration.

With each of these steps, be gentle. Use a light touch; don’t scrub your skin.

Nourish and Protect

Keeping your skin healthy, hydrated, and glowing is best maintained through a combination of nourishing treatments and protective moisturizers that support your skin’s essential functions to maintain a youthful, radiant appearance.

Nourish: Your body needs an array of nutrients and vitamins to perform at an optimal level — and that includes your skin.
