Beauty Secret: Estée Lauder New Dimension Plump + Fill Expert Lip Treatment

Lipsticks — both bright and dark — are having a moment. And in order for you to really enjoy their heavily pigmented beauty, you’ll want to plump up the fine lines around your mouth (even those who have never smoked have this annoying problem) to reduce the chances of feathering.

To the rescue: Estée Lauder New Dimension Plump + Fill Expert Lip Treatment.

First, apply Expert Filler serum around your lip line — not on your mouth — to lend a visible, instant smoothing effect, thanks to light-diffusing optics that neutralize shadows. Expert Filler isn’t simply sleight of hand, though; rubbed in morning and night, the serum purportedly helps rebuild lost collagen, firming and plumping the lip contour while reducing nagging lip lines.

The second step, Expert Plumper, is applied directly to the mouth, delivering a nonsticky layer of moisture that banishes flaking and chapping with repeated use, lending lips a more supple appearance.

The double-ended tube is easy to throw in your purse for on-the-go hydration (though harboring it bedside may be best), but just be forewarned: To access the Expert Filler, you extract a slim spatula from the serum, pat it around the lips and then rub in the serum using your fingers — meaning it’s not really an out-on-the-town type of product. But the Expert Plumper is as easy as it gets: Just twist and apply — and then, when your lip lines and dry skin are all but nonexistent, enjoy feather-free bright or dark — or both — lipsticks to your heart’s content.

Available at esteelauder.com, $42.
